I just have to make it through today…

Good morning and happy Wednesday!

I have two potlucks today. Two! If you know me at all, you know I like to eat.

But, it’s marathon week. I just have to make it through today with going overboard. Wish me luck! 😉

I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to check in yesterday. I have so much to do to get ready for this weekend, and like no time to do it.

We had a pretty good Costco trip on Monday. I found some cool running gloves, and they were on sale!

It was an off-day for running, but not from foam rolling.

I worked from home yesterday to catch up on a few projects, so for lunch I warmed up some leftovers and had a brown rice/quinoa pouch.

After work, I headed over to Fit2Run for Tempo Tuesday! I only had 25 minutes on the schedule. Gotta love the taper!

I grabbed my free smoothie and a couple extra items on my way out.

Back home, I threw a Digiorno pizza in the oven while I foam rolled.

And then enjoyed the new-to-me watermelon Nuun. Yummy!

And, just for fun…

I SO want to do this virtual race

And, I was gifted a selfie remote control by one of my vendors at work earlier this week. I had to try it out. Can you blame me?!

Yes, I’m a dork. I’ve come to terms with it. 🙂

Tune in on Thursday for a live Twitter session with the yours truly and the rest of the Route 66 bloggers forum panelists. Noon CST. #RT66Run

Questions of the day

What are your thoughts on virtual races?

Ever done one?

Riddle me this and Speedwork Thursday!

Good morning and happy Friday!

I am so happy the weekend is here…just have to get through the work day.

I had a great time at speedwork yesterday, but first…

For lunch, I picked up a Grandpa Johnson’s smokehouse salad. This thing always hits the spot!

After work, I had some time before I had to be at Fit2Run, so I ran into DSW. I’m looking for a pair of red shoes (flats or heels) for an upcoming wedding. I wasn’t crazy with their red selection, so I walked out empty-handed.

On the speedwork schedule was a ladder variation. We did an ascending ladder from 100m up to 400m, and then a descending ladder from 400m to 100m. In between each set, we had a jog/walk recovery back to the start point.

My splits were as follows:

  • 100m: 0:26
  • 200m: 0:48
  • 300m: 1:22
  • 400m: 1:56
  • 400m: 1:58
  • 300m: 1:27
  • 200m: 0:57
  • 100m: 0:22

By time we finished I was starving! All I had on me was a Honeycrisp apple from Costco. I’m was the first one in the “batch” I just bought, and was so disappointing. It was brown on the inside! I got defective apples! Noooo!

After getting cleaned up, I did an intense foam roll session, and then tried out Biofreeze…for the first time ever. Umm…MIND BLOWN! 😉 I have clearly been living under a rock.

For dinner, the Boy made us some yummy cheesy eggs. He really makes the best eggs!

And, just for fun…riddle me this:

How do I go to Walgreens with just two items on my list, walk out with three items, and then realize I only bought 50% of what was on my shopping list.

Way to go!

Question of the day

What are you most looking forward to this weekend?

I finally got her out!

Good morning and happy Thursday!

I had a super day yesterday! I’m looking forward to ending the week on a high-note… We’re almost there, I can feel it!

Once again, I was bad for lunch and went out. I get into these funks every so often. It’ll pass soon! And, no judging, but I went to Krystal Burger. I didn’t even take a pic because I wasn’t even planning to mention it here. 😉

I know it’s so bad, but it was so good.

After work, I headed over to Fit2Run for the weekly Fun Run. And! I was so so so excited because my mom FINALLY agreed to come out. We even got my dad to join in! 🙂

New Balance was there with some new models to demo. I grabbed a pair of the 860’s (a new stability shoe model). They felt a bit weird from the moment I put them on, but decided to give them a try.

I enjoy having the opportunity to test out different products that the Fun Run sponsors are gracious enough to bring out, but these weren’t the right shoes for me.

I’m just going to stick to my beloved neutral Brooks. 🙂

The fun was great! Although, my dad is CRAZY and a bit too stubborn at times. He doesn’t run, and really shouldn’t with all the issues he has had with his ankles, etc. But, he came out and ran the entire 5k. I’m pretty sure the last time he ran was around 2010…

Mom doesn’t run, but I think she had fun walking. And I hope she’ll come back again soon! (*wink *wink)

After we finished, I was starving! We went over to the food court for a bite to eat. I finally decided to give Rise Pies a try. I’m so happy that I did because everything there is so fresh, and made-to-order. I went simple with a sausage pizza and a side salad. I really like the way they do their salads. Five bucks and all the veggies you could want!

I got in some good foam rolling while the Boy and I watched The Office snacking on this Costco score…
